Ronald Wong

Ronald's name needs little introduction to the aircrew of military bases in Western Europe and the United States, for whom his precise and dramatic work has been a familiar presence and inspiration for many years. His original training in Britain was an Honours Degree in Biochemistry, and it was only after years of service in the British Health Service that he decided to embark on a career in painting,in particular his childhood love aircraft. He developed his own unique style as a self-taught artist, combining expert technical accuracy with dynamic composition, colour and atmosphere to produce the kind of work so widely admired in the aviation art world.

He is a long-standing Member of the Guild of Aviation Artists in the UK, where he has won numerous prizes, as well as a Member of the American Society of Aviation Artists. He continues to be one of the few successful independent artists, unattached to any promotional galleries or commercial publishers, preferring instead to preserve his freedom to work from source i.e. directly with the aircrew who are the inspiration behind so many of his works. Aside from the innumerable paintings he has achieved over the years which hang all over the world, he has to date published some 140 runs of prints, which must be something of a record for an individual artist. Apart from aviation, his artistic interests range widely from motoring and marine art to portraiture to wildlife and animals to landscapes. He lives in the ancient city of St Albans in Hertfordshire with his family.

All Limited Edition prints are signed and numbered (S/N) by the artist. Limited Edition prints are restricted to a certain number. For example, if 400 prints are made from an original painting, once they’re gone, that’s it. There is no limit to the number of open edition prints of a particular painting. That’s why Limited Edition prints are more expensive — and more valuable to collectors — than "open" edition. Rare objects are more valuable.

All Limited Edition artwork is subject to availability at time of order. Although seller strives to remain currrent as to inventory, seller reserves the right to cancel a sale if item is no longer available at time of purchase.
