Stu Shepherd
Best known for his Aviation Art work (mainly the150+ illustrations he has created to grace the boxes of Revell and Monogram plastic model kits), Stu is an illustrator and Graphic Designer from Central California and is currently working on several projects for the game industry.
Although Aviation art is his strength, he is also passionate about Sci-fi and Fantasy art, with a focus on the wonder of fantastic environments. 'I'd love to be a matte painter, and am working toward that someday soon."
While creating an exciting and hopeful future in his art, Stu also writes stories of hope and adventure. He has one screenplay complete and is working on his second. "The future doesn't stand still, and in this day and age, a bit of hope can go a long way toward making the future a place we all want to be. Hope is powerful, and we could all use that right now."

The P-61 Black Widow was built by Northrop to become the most powerful night fighter of World War II. Though the size of a medium bomber, the Black Widow's power and manueverability were unmatched for night fighters and could compete well with the best day fighters as well. The P-61 was too late for glory - by the time it was deployed to Europe and the Pacific enemy aircraft were few and far between.
This is "Midnite Madness", a P-61A of the 548th Night Fighter Squadron based on the island of Iwo Jima in April, 1945. Flown on a routine CAP mission by Capt. James W. Bradford, R/O Lt. Larry Lunt, and Gunner Sgt. Reno Lukow, 'Midnite Madness" used its powerful nose radar to lock in on a Japanese intruder - a Betty bomber attempting to penetrate the allied defenses at Ie Shima. Backlit by brilliant moonlight, there was no doubt of the identity of the intruder. There was also no doubt about what the outcome of the encounter would be.

For example, if 400 prints are made from an original painting, once they’re gone, that’s it. There is no limit to the number of open edition prints of a particular painting. That’s why Limited Edition prints are more expensive — and more valuable to collectors — than "open" edition. Rare objects are more valuable.
