AERIAL GUNNER

In this WWII drama, an injured aerial gunner recounts the events of his recruitment and basic training where he discovers his sergeant is an old rival just before going off to war. Further complicating the matter is their mutual adoration of a fellow recruit's sister. Tensions come to a boiling point but are then cast aside when the two men crash on an island teeming with Japanese troops. Forced to work together, the long-time rivals must repair the downed aircraft if they hope to make it out alive.

BATTLE OF BLOOD ISLAND

Battle of Blood Island, a tense war adventure, is set during the Second World War on a tiny island in the Pacific. There, two G.I.s have taken refuge in a cave as the only survivors of a failed attack on the Japanese. It seems they are trapped indefinitely until they come upon the aftermath of a mass suicide among Japanese soldiers—an indication the war has ended. But the threat of death still looms ominously overhead: an atomic bomb test is scheduled, and time for the soldiers to figure a way off the island is swiftly running out.

A WALK IN THE SUN

In this gritty WWII novel-turned-screenplay, a squad leader must assume command of his platoon after a series of deaths. As the men prepare to attack an isolated farmhouse occupied by Nazis, the thoughts of every soldier are revealed as each ponders his reality and reflects upon his past—all the while tensions and casualties are mounting. A Walk in the Sun is a poignant look at the realities of life on the battle lines.

COMBAT!

In this dramatic, one-hour episode of the television series, a front-line American infantry unit is chronicled as it engages in battle after battle all across Europe. With mud-spattered and blood-spilled realism, Combat! illustrates life in the trenches, focusing on each soldier as he struggles to maintain his humanity amidst the horrors of war.

TARGET FOR TONIGHT

Target for Tonight is a first-class wartime docu-drama, chronicling the experiences of a Royal Air Force bomber and its fearless crew—all played by actual members of the RAF. After touring various ground-crew stations, tactical centers, and map rooms, director Harry Watt goes inside the bomber itself as the crew prepares for a mission over Germany—an operation that ends almost before it begins when the plane is riddled with machine gun fire in a terrifying true-life sequence.

THUNDERBOLT

In this exciting and intriguing World War II documentary, the P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft is examined, as well as the significant role it played in the daring missions executed over Europe and the Pacific theatre in the 1940s.

THE TRUE GLORY

Compiled from genuine WWII footage of the allied invasion of Europe and captured by the lenses of thousands of cameramen, The True Glory begins its tale with the tragedy of D-Day and covers all the major battles leading to the fall of Berlin. Add to this engaging historical perspective the intriguing personal stories of those involved in this monumental war, add to it a powerful prologue read by General Eisenhower, as well as the potent narration of Robert Harris and Peter Ustinov, and there you have the 1945 Academy Award® winner for best documentary.

THE BATTLE OF SAN PIETRO

The confrontation at San Pietro was one of the fiercest conflicts of World War II. An Italian city, San Pietro, was taken over as a German stronghold where thousands of Allied soldiers were massacred. In this grueling, bloody battle, the 143rd infantry lost twelve of its sixteen tanks and over a thousand U.S. soldiers. The faces of the fallen are illustrated alive and well before battle gets under way—a sharp reminder of the gravity of war—but despite the unfortunate loss, the documentary emphasizes the resilience and honor of those who survived. The Battle of San Pietro, a unique and insightful WWII documentary, delivers an honest, unbiased look at the actualities of war.
